The University of New Mexico hosts a series of educational, social and cultural programs in recognition of American Indian Heritage Month throughout the month of November.
UNM's American Indian Student Services (AISS), Native American Studies and other chartered student organizations collaborate to engage the community in learning more about the indigenous experience and perspective by offering a variety of events.
The opening event, sponsored by AISS and American Indian Business Leaders, is Tuesday, Nov. 2, at 12 p.m. in the SUB atrium. The kickoff ceremony includes presentations by Pamela Agoyo, presidential assistant at AISS, Provost Suzanne Ortega, Greg Cajete and a performance by the Walatowa Head Start Dance Group.
A complete list of events visit: AISS. All events are free and open to the public.
