The First UNM Open Source/Open Access Day is set for Wednesday, April 6, at Zimmerman Library. Presentations, demonstrations and workshops throughout the day will highlight the innovative ways open source and open access are currently used at UNM to aid student learning and the scholarly work of faculty, staff and students.

A kickoff presentation by Chief Information Officer Gil Gonzales will be followed by opportunities to learn about open-source software in the classroom, discussions of open-source tools, open data access, open licensing and fair use on campus, and open source equivalents of commercial software. The UNM community is invited to attend and welcome to come and go as interests and schedules permit.
