Indian Pueblo Cultural Center Hosts Welcoming Event

The University of New Mexico welcomes fall 2010 Fulbright scholars and students. The Indian Pueblo Cultural Center, 2401 12th St. NW, hosts an event to welcome new and returning Fulbright scholars and students on Saturday, Aug. 28, from 1 – 5 p.m. The group will be treated to a performance by the Laguna Corn Dancers.

The visiting Fulbright scholars are Barnali Chaudhary, India, linguistics; Usama Kandil, Egypt, civil engineering; Radu Mutihac, Romania, neurology; and Lin Sun, China, American studies.

The Fulbright students are Loreto Barcos, Chile, physics & astronomy; Gabriela Corleto Orantes, Guatemala, music; Patricio Cruz Davalos, Ecuador; electrical & computer engineering; and Dina Jardaneh, Jordan, public health.


Program:
1 p.m. Gather in the Antelope Room of the Indian Pueblo Cultural Center on 12th St. NW, south of Menaul NW in Albuquerque.

1:10 p.m. Brief introductions and announcements and time to make new and greet old friends. Beverages will be available.

2 p.m. Laguna Corn Dancers perform in the patio.

3 p.m. Return to the Antelope Room for beverages and light snacks.

3:30 p.m. A docent guided tour of the museum and the gallery, as time permits.

4:30 pm: Tour ends.

Cost:
$10 per person and is payable in cash only when we gather for the event. Visiting Fulbrights will be subsidized by the chapter.
