In response to the recent attacks on women on the UNM campus, the Women's Resource Center and the Dean of Students Office present, "Personal Safety 101: Learning to be Safe and Avoid Violence," by IMPACT Personal Safety.

Empower yourself by learning:

  • Actual vs. Perceived safety risks

  • What an assailant is looking for

  • Awareness, body language and voice skills

Three free on—campus sessions will be held on the following dates:

Thursday, March 21, 12—1:30 p.m.
Main Campus: SUB Fiesta A&B;

Tuesday, March 26, 7—8:30 p.m.
Main Campus: Hokona Classroom

Wednesday, April 3, 12—1:30 p.m.
North Campus: Nursing/Pharmacy Bldg., Room 257 (Entrance on south side)

Additionally, information will also be provided at each session about an upcoming 20-hour training session titled "Women's Basics Course," a personal safety class. The Dean of Students office has also compiled a list of safety tips that can be found at Campus Safety.
