An Albuquerque holiday tradition is channeling its proceeds to UNM.
This year the 19th Annual Turkey Trek Run, Fitness Walk and Kids 1k will benefit the UNM Food Pantry. Every year the Turkey Trek, put on by TCR Productions, donates a portion of the registration fee proceeds to a different cause. UNM Food Pantry was selected as this year’s recipient.
“The LoboRESPECT Advocacy Center, UNM Dean of Students Office and the UNM Food Pantry, encourages the entire UNM community to participate in this healthy tradition before celebrating with your family and friends,” said Lisa Lindquist, director of LoboRESPECT Advocacy Center. “We are thankful to Rudolfo Law Offices and Fleet Feet Sports Albuquerque for their contributions which help make this incredible race a reality.”
Members of the UNM community will receive a $5 registration discount when signing up online using the code UNM.
Since the Lobo Food Pantry was established in 2014, it has served more than 8,000 students and community members. It’s missing is to bring students one step closer to graduation by eliminating a stressor that may keep them from fully investing in their academic and personal success while at UNM.
