The 52nd Annual ASUNM Arts & Crafts Fair is underway with more than 70 local vendors showing and selling their handmade goods.
The three-day long event, presented by the Arts and Crafts Studio at the University of New Mexico, began Wednesday, Nov. 18 and runs through Friday, Nov. 20 in the Student Union Building Ballrooms. The fair is open from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. daily and is free to attend.
Helen Atkins, executive director of the Arts and Crafts Studio, said the yearly fair is a great way to show off what New Mexico artists and craftsmen are doing across the state.
“You really get to see the diversity that Albuquerque and New Mexico has to offer, and all the talent at UNM and across the community,” said Atkins.
She also said it’s a great way for student artists to get experience selling their goods. Two student organizations have booths at this year’s event along with eight individual students selling their wok.
Along with the vendors, organizers said they also bring in musicians for live performances and a variety of local food trucks.
“Every year we give out a survey to our vendors and they’re always really glad to be here and say it’s one of their favorite fairs in the state,” said Atkins. “So we really want to just keep that going and keep expanding on it year after year.”
