Looking for work, or is it time to start planning that career after graduation? On Thursday, Feb. 8, from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m., The University of New Mexico will host its Career Expo, an event centered around networking and finding jobs of all kinds in any field or major.

Career Expo will also be offering learning sessions before the main event to help build resumes and manage interviews. CIA Career Days is occurring the same week, Feb 6. through Feb. 8, with different events featured each day.

Career Expo

The Career Expo will take place in the Student Union Building (SUB) Ballrooms. UNM students, alumni and community members have the opportunity to meet with recruiters from local, national and international organizations.

This year, the career sponsors include Sandia National Laboratory, Los Alamos National Laboratory, CIA, McCoy’s Building Supply, University of New Mexico Medical Group, Inc., Ideal Vacuum Products and Enterprise Holdings. Job seekers should come prepared, professionally dressed and with plenty of copies of their resume.

On Tuesday, Feb. 6, from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. and Wednesday, Feb. 7, from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m., Career Services is hosting a workshop titled “Resumes and Bagels.” The next workshop, “How to Get Hired,” will be Tuesday, Feb. 6, at 12 p.m. and again on Wednesday, Feb. 7, at 12 p.m. in Career Services.

CIA Career Days

CIA Career Days kicks off with an information session in the UNM Career Services conference room 220 building 85, on Tuesday, Feb. 6 from 5 to 6 p.m.

On Wednesday, Feb. 7, the CIA will have an info table from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. in the SUB on the ground floor. There will also be a session from 5:30 to 6:30 p.m. titled “Learn About the CIA’s Native American Council” in the Career Services conference room. Another Information session will take place the same day from 11 a.m. to 12 p.m. in the conference room.

Thursday, Feb. 8, an info session will be held in the conference room from 12 p.m. to 1 p.m. An “Intro to CIA Workshop” will take place from 5:30 to 6:30 p.m. in the Career Services conference room. Attendees are requested to bring a laptop or tablet.
