Cabinet Secretary for the Early Childhood Education and Care Department (ECECD), Elizabeth Groginsky said state leaders recognize the profound and essential work of early childhood education and care professionals. She said this subcommittee is designed to ensure the safety of early childhood education.

The subcommittee is part of Gov. Michelle Lujan Grisham’s Economic Recovery Council; expected to guide businesses along to safely resume operations amid the pandemic. For the next month, Baca will meet with the subcommittee to review and advise on safety practices for early childhood care.

“The committee will play a vital role as to how we move forward not only at UNM but for the state as a whole as we start to return to work,” said Eliseo Torres, UNM’s Division of Student Affairs vice president.
