A free traditional health fair, feria de salud, will be held in conjunction with the annual Traditional Medicine without Borders: Curanderismo in the Southwest and Mexico class in July.  The health fair will be held Wednesday, July 17 from 12:30 p.m. to 4 p.m. on The University of New Mexico campus in the grassy area between Zimmerman Library and the Duck Pond.

As in years past, the health fair, sponsored by the UNM Women’s Resource Center, Tonantzin Traditional Healing, UNM Collaborative for Hispano/Latino Health Equity (CHLHE) and UNM RAICES, will feature well-known traditional healers/curanderos from the area of Mexico City, as well as local healers from around New Mexico.

The 19th annual Traditional Medicine without Borders: Curanderismo in the Southwest and Mexico class will run Monday-Friday, July 8-19, on the UNM main campus from 8:10 a.m. to 12:40 p.m. for the duration of the two weeks.  Registration for the class is now open through Continuing Education for non-credit or CEU’s. UNM registered students may also register through their MyUNM portal.
