Renovations are currently ongoing at The University of New Mexico’s Johnson Center, and while there are many closures and activity relocations, the Johnson Center weight room is open and will remain open throughout the renovations with no reduction in hours.

Additionally, most Johnson Center weight room functions including WOW classes, gym space, strength and cardiovascular equipment will continue to be available during construction. The swimming pools and fields will also remain open throughout the renovation.

However, UNM also wants to provide additional options to full active gyms for greater fitness opportunities for students, faculty and staff. Employee Wellness and Recreational Services have collaborated with LoboPerks to offer exclusive fitness discounts during construction.

The LoboPerks program is a partnership between the LoboCard Office and vendors around Albuquerque and beyond, designed to bring discounted goods and services to the campus community. The program offers a wide range of discounts from travel expenses, cosmetics, pet care and eating out.
