This week on New Mexico in Focus, a talk with Brian Jay Jones, author of “Jim Henson: The Biography,” who gives us a behind-the-scenes look at the creative genius behind the Muppets. While there have been books about his work, this is the first comprehensive biography of Henson.

New Mexico in Focus airs Friday at 7 p.m. on Channel 5.1 and appears online shortly thereafter. The show rebroadcasts on Saturday at 5 p.m. on Channel 9.1. and again on Sunday at 7 a.m. on channel 5.1.

Also scheduled is a replay of an interview with Dr. George Fischbeck, legendary pioneer in educational television, and a roll out of the first in a series of one-on-one talks with special guests. This episode features Tanya Ward Goodman, author of “Leaving Tinkertown,” a memoir about growing up with a father diagnosed with Alzheimer’s at age 57, and his subsequent death.

For this Thanksgiving holiday episode, the Line talks about shopping at locally owned businesses ahead of Small Business Saturday, and a look back at the assassination of President John F. Kennedy and the legacy of that traumatic moment in American history.
