The 2012 Jury of Fellows from the American Institute of Architects (AIA) has elevated two New Mexico architects, Jon Anderson, FAIA and Van Gilbert, FAIA, to its prestigious College of Fellows, an honor awarded to members who have made significant contributions to the profession.
Both are University of New Mexico alums. Anderson earned a bachelor of arts in architecture degree; while Gilbert earned both a bachelor's of Fine Arts and a master's of arts in architecture from UNM.
The 2012 Fellows will be honored at an investiture ceremony at the 2012 National AIA Convention and Design Exposition in Washington, D.C.
The Fellowship program was developed to elevate those architects who have made a significant contribution to architecture and society and who have achieved a standard of excellence in the profession. Election to fellowship not only recognizes the achievements of architects as individuals, but also their significant contribution to architecture and society on a national level.
