Due to ongoing construction of the mini-bridge on westbound Avenida Cesar Chavez from University to I-25, UNM has worked with the city to develop a traffic flow plan for the game on Friday night between the Lobos and Fresno State that kicks-off at 6:01 p.m. at Branch Field at University Stadium.
"We advise our fans to please plan on getting to the stadium early because of the potential for Friday night traffic on the interstate," said Assistant A.D. for Communications Frank Mercogliano. "While the Exit 223 eastbound towards the stadium will be open, there is a potential for a lot of traffic at that exit so fans should consider alternate routes such as Lead/Coal or Central to University, or Gibson to University are other good routes to take to get to the stadium. Fans should be able to get to the stadium easily from the east from Yale."
While arriving to the stadium will be possible, but affected by the ACC construction, fans will not be able to get to I-25 from ACC after the game. UNM officials have worked with the city to develop a traffic flow plan that should get folks where they need to be after the game.
- Fans can use the Lot T Shuttle to get to the stadium. Lot T is located on the corner of University and Lomas, and shuttle busses will take fans to the stadium for just $3 per person round trip.
- Fans that park in Stadium East and Stadium North 3 and 4 (the yellow lots on the map above) will be directed east on Cesar Chavez. From there fans can go either north or south on Yale and access I-25 from Lead/Coal, Central, Lomas, or from Gibson to the south.
- Fans that park in Stadium West, Pit West, Baseball South and Baseball East (the blue lots on the map above) will be directed south on University, where they can access I-25 from Gibson, or via the Sunport airport exit.
- Fans that park in STP, Isotopes and CNM lots (the purple lots on the map above) will be directed north on University, where they can access I-25 via Lead/Coal, Central, or Lomas.
Also, since it is a school day, the STP (Science and Technology Park) lots will open at 5 p.m. and stadium east and west will open at noon for tailgaters.
