The University of New Mexico College of Fine Arts hosts its third annual ARTSSPLASH event on Wednesday, Sept. 25. ARTSSPLASH 2024 will celebrate Fine Arts at UNM and raise awareness about the various programs within the college.

The event will take place on the east side of the Student Union Building, on the Cornell Mall from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m., with live performances from the Department of Theatre & Dance and Department of Music from noon to 1 p.m. Activities include department booths, prizes, food trucks, and a chance to earn an ARTSSPLASH 2024 T-shirt.

This fall welcomes the inclusion of the Arts Leadership and Business Program (ALBS) to include the bi-annual Arts Career Fair and the celebration of the arts at UNM and in the greater community. Attendees are invited to the College of Fine Art lobby for Arts Career Fair from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. to expand their career horizons in the arts. Experience community support, networking opportunities, resume/cv feedback, internship connections, and possible job opportunities.

Attendees should bring their resumes and connect with local arts organizations. Past arts organization attendees include Meow Wolf, Opera Southwest, UNM Art Museum, Poeh Museum and Cultural Center, Maxwell Museum of Anthropology, Keshet Dance & Center of the Arts, Fuse Makerspace, CNM Ingenuity, and many more. New Mexico arts organizations interested in having a table at this event can contact ALBS director Katie Dukes Walker by email at dukeskatie@unm.edu to reserve a space.

Past performances have included the Flamenco Program, a true gem of the Department of Theatre & Dance at UNM, which offers the only concentration in Flamenco in the nation. The Department of Music has also showcased the Mariachi Ensemble, directed by Robert Lucero. Get to know the powerful musical traditions and historical dance originating in Spain alongside creative community members. 

Explore UNM Fine Arts and receive an ARTSSPLASH 2024 T-shirt by getting your ARTSSPLASH Passport stamped at departmental booths. Each booth will have information, materials, and activities from CFA units such as the Department of Art, CFA Advisement, Department of Film & Digital Arts, Department of Music, and Department of Theatre & Dance, along with ARTSLab, the UNM Art Museum, Tamarind Institute, ALBS, Bachelor of Arts in Interdisciplinary Arts, student clubs, and more.
