The Global & National Security Policy Institute (GNSPI) brings together global and national security-related courses, research and programs to The University of New Mexico under one umbrella. Now, individuals can pursue a Professional Master of Science in Global and National Security (PMS-GNS) master’s-level degree entirely online.
The GNSPI mission is to develop future policy leaders skilled in understanding the interdependency of technology and business in establishing and implementing effective national security policy. National security rests on a broad definition ranging from nuclear issues to natural resources, humanitarian and health challenges, as well as governance, legal, policy, technology, and cybersecurity concerns.
Having an intellectual foundation for understanding the threats to national security, particularly in technology and global “commons” such as cyberspace, climate, food & water, and energy resources, and their role in international relations is crucial to the ability to analyze and meet the challenges and concerns of the 21st century.
The Professional Master of Science in Global and National Security is a high-level, interdisciplinary 33-credit-hour degree program that provides students with the foundation to prepare individuals for security policy leadership positions to help ensure national security. Students can take advantage of the flexibility and convenience an online degree offers, and because it is fully online, the program is ideal for working students.
The Professional Master of Science in Global and National Security (PMS-GNS) is now accepting applications through June 15 for the Fall 2023 semester.
