The UNM‐Gallup Adult Education program again exceeded projected performance measures and ranked well above the state average in terms of program goals achieved for the 2013‐14 academic year.

The program, offered at all UNM-G locations, provides instruction in GED preparation and English as a second language, and the Gallup location also serves as a GED testing center. Project Director Laura Jijon oversees both programs.

“Our recipe for a successful Adult Education Program is a flexible, evolving, responsive curriculum, a philosophy of education as an exploratory, collaborative process of engagement and a celebration of cultural and linguistic diversity,” Jijon said.

The Adult Education program is part of the Community Based Education and Workforce Development Division and offers year-round classes.
