The University of New Mexico’s Bureau of Business & Economic Research (BBER) is sponsoring a webinar aimed at helping New Mexican’s learn to use economic development data from the U.S. Census Bureau to better run their small businesses and organizations.

The online event, called Increasing your Competitive Advantage, will take place on Tuesday, Jan. 31 at 10 a.m. BBER is working directly with the U.S. Census Bureau to put on the webinar, which will be presented by Census personnel.

The webinar will showcase one of the Census’ latest business tools, Census Business Builder, as well as review Census Business concepts and highlight important economic datasets. The Business Builder tool is a suite of services that provides selected demographic and economic data from the Census Bureau tailored to specific types of users in a simple to access and use format.

The Business Builder – Small Business Edition can help small business owners looking develop business plans and assess potential markets by providing key economic and demographic data to better understand their consumers.

The Business Builder – Regional Analyst Edition is the latest edition of the tool that presents data for all sectors of the economy be region in multiple counties and cities. The tool features economic and demographic data viewable in a map, report or table; and trend charts to identify changes over time for your industry or market.
