Expertise
- Meyer taught for almost 20 years before earning a Ph.D. in reading from the University of Arizona
- His research and teaching focus on literacy within families, learning to read, learning to write, teaching reading, teaching writing and newer literacies with which children are learning to read and write in new ways
- Most recently, his work on studying the movements of the eye has further substantiated important theories about how the mind works during the reading process.
