Due to a shortage of drivers, both in New Mexico and nationally, UNM Parking & Transportation Services (UNM PATS) customers are experiencing an increase in wait times for shuttles during peak hours. UNM PATS understands and apologizes for the inconvenience such delays can cause riders, and every effort is being made to address the shortage and return to regular service.
As always, UNM PATS encourages customers to give themselves some extra time in their schedule to help off-set delays caused by heavy passenger loads, traffic, road detours, etc.
In response to current circumstances, UNM PATS has made the following changes to shuttle schedules. Here’s what you need to know:
Updated Schedule Effective Nov. 22, 2021
- Starting on Monday, Nov. 22 all valid “K” permits will be honored in the Q Lot.
o If you have questions about your permit, call the PATS Business office at 505.277.1938
between 7:30 a.m. and 5 p.m., Monday-Friday.
- Effective Monday, Nov. 29 the Elks Lot will be closed and shuttle service to/from Elks will cease until further notice.
- Shuttle service between UNM Health Sciences Center/U Lot (1650 University Blvd.) and north campus bus stops will be on-demand.
o Customers needing shuttle service to and from this facility and the north campus bus
stops can call the PATS Transportation Office at 505.277.0857 between the hours of
6:30 a.m. and 5 p.m., Monday-Friday. Be sure to call at least 20 minutes in advance
of needing shuttle service as a lack of an available driver may affect wait times.
These changes in service will be in effect through Wednesday, Dec. 22, at which time shuttle service ceases for UNM Winter Break (Dec. 23-Jan. 4).
