Students interested in studying abroad will have the chance to learn about every opportunity during UNM's Study Abroad Fair.
The Global Education Office is hosting the fair in the SUB Atrium from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m., Tuesday, Feb. 4.
Advisors, faculty leaders and program alumni will be available to speak with students about every opportunity, including exchange programs that allow students to study at more than 75 top universities in 25 different countries.
The following departments will also attend the fair to help provide information about their summer and short-term programs.
- Spanish & Portuguese
- Honors College
- Art & Art History
- Health Sciences Center
- Latin American & Iberian Institute
Director of Education Abroad, Todd Karr, said he hopes students stop by the fair to learn more about how an international experience can be a reality for all UNM students.
"As the fair approaches, I find myself thinking about all the individuals who have expressed that they wish they did study abroad in college, participated earlier or for a longer term," he said. "I am always struck by the passion and excitement in their words."
Students will have a chance to win one of three scholarship awards for $275 by completing and submitting the fair’s “passport” – a handout reflecting the conversations held during the event.
“No matter who you are, what you are majoring in or where you come from, study abroad is a possibility," Karr said.
