Lobo Advisory – 7.23.2024, 1:22 p.m.: (Timely Warning) - In reference to the earlier police activity at Lead and Buena Vista SE. APD has cleared the area. The suspect, a White male wearing a white colored shirt with a black colored backpack, has changed clothing and is now wearing a blue colored, shirt dark jeans, and was not located in their search of the area. The last known location of the suspect was in the area of Lead and Buena Vista. No information on the direction of travel. This is the only information APD has shared at this time.

APD is looking for a male wearing a white shirt and a black backpack. There is no additional information at this time.

If you feel unsafe, go to a safe, witness-rich environment where others are present. Familiarize yourself with the locations of exits and emergency blue light phones in all the places you frequent on campus.
After dark, stay on lit paths that are intended for pedestrian traffic and avoid shortcuts that are not well-traveled any time of day or night. Be aware of your surroundings at all times.
Save your earbuds for home and the gym so they do not distract you while you?re out and about. Firearms are not allowed on campus.
If you see a firearm or other dangerous weapon prohibited by UNM?s Weapons Policy, report it immediately to UNMPD at 505-277-2241.
