The Free Application for Student Federal Aide (FAFSA) for the academic year 2025-2026 is now available, and students are already seizing the opportunity to file for aid.
UNM’s priority deadline for filing is Jan. 31, and any additional required documentation must be submitted by March 1. If students do not file their FAFSA by the priority date, they risk being excluded from certain types of aid.
Awards will be published on students’ LoboWeb account by March 1, with the deadline to accept scholarships by May 1. For those who are taking classes during Spring 2025, students will need to fill out the 2024-2025 FAFSA by June 30, 2025. Learn more about FAFSA deadlines and steps to complete the FAFSA by going to the UNM Financial Aide website.
The UNM Financial Aid Office will be hosting virtual and in-person FAFSA workshops starting January to July. These workshops are appointment only. Students are required to bring the following to their FAFSA appointment;
- Your Federal Student Aid Account Login info, it can be obtained at studentaid.gov
- Social Security Number(s) and information for your contributors
- Completed 2023 tax forms if you or your parents have not already completed your 2023 taxes. (In lieu of tax forms, W-2s may assist with estimating income.)
