The Division for Equity and Inclusion will host representatives from New Mexico’s two-year, four-year and tribal institutions at the 2018 Diversity Summit: Advancing Diversity Curriculum in Higher Education.

The summit takes place Friday, Sept. 21 from 9:30 a.m. to 3 p.m. at the UNM Science Park Rotunda. The event is free and open to anyone who is working with diversity programs and curriculum.

In addition to supporting, advancing and embracing diversity curriculum, the goals are to protect the integrity of the U.S. and Global diversity and inclusion undergraduate requirement. Attendees will also help brainstorm how to best advance an agenda and curriculum of diversity throughout New Mexico

The event will feature a faculty panel, policy review, breakout session and plenary steps. Additionally, it will touch on the topic of diversity requirements being established across educational institutions, and the historical background of why the diversity movement is critical to higher learning.
