The Faculty Senate Teaching Enhancement Committee and the Center for Teaching Excellence (CTE) are now accepting nominations of outstanding educators at UNM.

Nominations are now being accepted. Instructors, students and staff are eligible to nominate faculty for award recognition. The nomination deadline is Wednesday, Feb. 10.

Teaching Awards

  • 2016-18 Presidential Teaching Fellow
  • 2015-16 Outstanding Teacher of the Year
  • 2015-16 New Teacher of the Year
  • 2015-16 Online Teacher of the Year
  • 2015-16 Lecturer or Affiliated Teacher of the Year
  • 2015-16 Susan Deese-Roberts Outstanding Teaching Assistant Awards.

"The Center for Teaching and Learning's Annual Teaching Awards recognize faculty and graduate teaching assistants who do extraordinary work teaching UNM students," said Aeron Haynie, executive director, CTL, and associate professor of English. "Every year we read nominations from students whose lives were changed by dedicated instructors who brought their disciplines to life, who involved students in cutting-edge research, and who increased students' confidence and skills."

The Center for Teaching Excellence serves as a general resource center for all UNM instructors including tenured and tenure-track faculty, lecturers, adjunct faculty, faculty on branch campuses, teaching assistants, clinician educators, and all others who have an instructional role in the classroom.
