The University of New Mexico Department of Communication & Journalism hosts Dr. Gary Kreps, George Mason University, presenting, "Humanizing Health Information Technology to Enhance Health Outcomes: promoting immediacy with artificial intelligence," on Friday, April 24 from 3-4:30 p.m. in C&J room 119. The lecture is followed by a reception.
Kreps is a Distinguished Professor at George Mason University, where he chairs the Department of Communication and directs the Center for Health and Risk Communication. In 2015, he received the Research Laureate Award from the American Academy of Health Behavior. His research (in more than 400 articles, books, and monographs) examines health communication, health promotion, health informatics, multicultural relations, and applied research methods, with a major focus on reducing health disparities.
