UNM Department of Sociology Professor Emeritus Nelson P. Valdés, a well-known Cuban scholar, presents an overview of events in Cuba since Fidel Castro renounced power in July 2006. The talk is Tuesday, Oct. 14 from 7 to 9 p.m. at the South Broadway Cultural Center.

After the presentation, which will be in Spanish, Valdes will answer questions from the audience. Questions may be asked in either English or Spanish.
