"A Xicana Codex of Changing Consciousness," a Literary & Visual Art Presentation with Cherríe Moraga and Celia Herrera Rodríguez, is set for Thursday, Aug. 25 from 7-9:30 p.m. in the Kiva Lecture Hall, located at the northeast end of Cornell Mall, near the College of Education on the UNM main campus. This event is free and open to the public.
Moraga will read from her new collection of non-fiction writings "Xicana Codex" (Duke University Press, 2011). Herrera Rodríguez painter, scenic designer and performance artist, will present on the series of codex-influenced images she created for the book.
The presentation will be followed by a question and answer session and reception with the artists. Books and prints will be available for purchase and signing.
