Facebook is looking for motivated students from The University of New Mexico and central N.M. to join its Career Connections Fellowship program for the summer of 2020.

Career Connections is a Facebook initiative that expands student access to meaningful careers in their communities while contributing to the growth of local businesses. The program is designed to help capable students from historically underserved backgrounds take Facebook’s social media and digital marketing presence to the next level and ultimately help them build their career into Facebook. Career Connections Fellows are local college students vetted and trained by Facebook on digital marketing, communication and leadership skills crucial for professional success.

In early 2019, Facebook recently opened a massive data center in Los Lunas, N.M. One of the reasons Facebook chose to place a location in New Mexico was due to the strong local talent pool.

The fellowship is a competitively paid internship that will give students the opportunity to master how to nail an interview to mastering digital media marketing. Fellows will receive unique experience through different events and trainings. At these trainings, interns will discover best internship practices to support other fellows and learning and development through Facebook’s virtual training. Once training is complete, fellows are matched with local business partners through an interview process.

Facebook is also seeking businesses to participate in the program for the summer of 2020 that are seeking to:

  • Looking to increase their digital media presence
  • Actively expanding entry-level staff through a local talent pipeline
  • Passionate about helping the next generation of local talent succeed
  • Capable of nurturing and managing a paid intern over three months

To apply, visit student fellowship application or business application. The application deadline is Friday, Feb. 14.
