It’s the halfway point in the 12-week training schedule for the Lobo Triathlon, Kids Race and Wellness Fair 2017 set for Sunday, April 9.

Week 5 Training: Feb. 13-18
Monday: Swim 800 yards – 6 x 25 yards (fast effort) with a 25-second recovery between sets, then 3 x 50 yards (moderate effort) with a 20-second recovery between sets, then 5 x 100 yards with a 25-second recovery between sets.
Tuesday: Core: 10 minutes - 4 x 30 second planks, 2 x 25 modified crunches. Repeat 2 or 3 times through the day to equal 10 minutes.
Wednesday: Bike 45 minutes at moderate pace, keeping cadence at 90 RPM.
Thursday: Run 2 miles at race pace. Do ½ mile warm up and cool down. Do not forget to stretch!
Friday: Bike 60 minutes and then run 15.
Saturday: Attend coaching session – bring swim gear
Week 6 Training: Feb. 20-26
Monday: Swim 1000 yards – 2 x 50 (moderate effort) with a 25 second recovery between sets, then 5 x 100 yards with a focus on form, then 2 x 200 yards (moderate effort) with a 30 second recovery between sets.
Tuesday: Twenty minutes of stretching or yoga.
Wednesday: Bike 45 minutes at moderate pace, flat to rolling hills, keeping cadence at 90 RPM.
Thursday: Core: 10 minutes - 4 x 30 second planks, 2 x 25 modified crunches. Repeat 2 or 3 times through the day to equal 10 minutes
Friday: Run 30 minutes easy/moderate pace, 85-90 steps per minute
Saturday: Attend coaching session – bring biking and running gear (bike 12 miles and then 25 minute run.
