Visitors to The University of New Mexico's main campus will experience heavy traffic Friday, April 29 through Sunday, May 1 due to several special events scheduled during this time period says UNM's Parking and Transportation Services (PATS).
The events could cause traffic congestion around Johnson Field and along Redondo Drive on the south side of campus (UNM's main entrance) near Central Ave. and Cornell.
The special events include, but are not limited to:
• The 7th annual All-Indian Native America Basketball Shootout in Johnson Center on April 29 -May 1
• Nizhoni Days Pow-Wow festivities on Johnson Field, Sunday, May 1 from 10 a.m. - 7 p.m.
• Popejoy Hall show, Jim Belushi and the Board of Comedy, Sunday, May 1 at 3 p.m.
Campus visitors should anticipate a higher than normal volume of traffic along Redondo Drive and around Johnson Center, and allow extra time for travel and parking on campus.
If you have any questions or need assistance finding parking on Saturday or Sunday, please contact our PATS Enforcement Supervisor at 934-0472 (weekend cell phone).
