The Hispano Round Table of New Mexico holds its 17th Annual Tribute to Hispano legislators on Tuesday, Feb. 22, at 6 p.m. in the Sweeney Convention Center in Santa Fe.



In addition to honoring Hispanic legislators, they will honor veterans and present their "Walking the Talk" awards to several community members who made tremendous sacrifices and contributions to our Hispanic community in education, employment, business and social justice.

Two UNM employees will be recognized in the "Walking the Talk" Chavez y Chavez award:

Lawrence Roybal, New Mexico ENLACE state director

Jennifer Gomez Chavez, Hispanic Heritage committee chairwoman & UNM Title V director
