"Claiming the Word," UNM's Indigenous Book Festival, takes place on Thursday-Friday, Nov. 18-19 in the Student Union Building, Ballroom C. The event is sponsored by the Institute for American Indian Research.

On Thursday, Nov. 18, keynote luncheon speaker Leslie Marmon Silko presents, "We are Still here, We Won't Disappear, and More of Us Are On The Way," from noon to 1:30 p.m. On Friday, Nov. 19, Joy Harjo offers creative presentation, "Crazy Brave, Looking for a Vision," from 1:30-3 p.m.
