All this week, The University of New Mexico is honoring it’s graduate and professional students through a series of programs and events. GPSA week seeks to emphasize the contributions, impact, and value of graduate and professional students on campuses throughout the U.S.

“Our graduate and professional students bring unparalleled enthusiasm and dedication to our classrooms and campus,” said David Saavedra, UNM GPSA president. “Whether it’s through tutoring and teaching undergraduate students, assisting in high level research, or representing UNM at other educational institutions, our graduate and professional students should be applauded for their outstanding efforts in furthering the UNM mission. Happy GPSA Week to all UNM's graduate and professional students; you are appreciated!”

There are more than 6,000 graduate and professional students at UNM, and many of them are or are contributing to shaping New Mexico’s next leaders. Governor Michelle Lujan Grisham and Albuquerque Mayor Tim Keller expressed their appreciation for these students by issuing a proclamation and executive order from their respective offices. UNM President Garnett Stokes also recognized GPSA Week in her weekly message to campus.

GPSA Week includes a variety of events happening April 4 – 8 at different locations on UNM Main and North Campuses. Click here or see the flyer below for details. The week will conclude Friday, April 8 with “Donuts with the Dean of Graduate Studies” from 9 to 10 a. m. in Smith Plaza near the Humanities Building, and a Picnic with the Global Education Office and GPSA at the Duck Pond Cactus Garden from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m.
