The Lobo Triathlon is less than four weeks away. Excitement for race day on Sunday, April 9 continues to build with each passing week. Below is the training shedule for Weeks 9 & 10.

Week 9 Training:  March 13 - 19

Monday: Swim: 1,200 yards - 2 x 50 moderate effort with a 25- second recovery after each set, then 5 x 100 with a 25- second recovery – focus on form, 3 x 200, moderate effort with 30- second recovery after each set.

Wednesday: Bike 45 minutes at moderate pace, keeping cadence at 90 RPM.

Thursday:  Core: 10 minutes anytime during the day: 4 x 30 second planks, 2 x 25 modified crunches.

Friday: Run four miles at a moderate pace.

Saturday: Bike 16 miles then run 3 miles

Sunday:  15 minutes of dynamic stretching/foam rolling

 

Week 10 Training: March 20-25

Monday: Swim 1400 yards – 4 x 50 (moderate effort) with a 25- second recovery between sets, then 6 x 100 yards with a focus on form, and 25- second recovery between sets, 3 x 200 (moderate effort with 30-second recovery

Tuesday: Core 10 minutes anything during the day:  4 x 30 second planks and 2 x 25 modified crunches

Wednesday: Bike 10 miles moderate pace, flat to rolling hills, keeping cadence at 90 RPM.

Friday: Run three miles moderate pace, 85-90 steps per minute

Saturday:  Attend coaching session – bring bike and running gear or Bike 18 miles then run three miles.
