The 3rd Annual Navajo Rug Auction to benefit Navajo weavers and the Maxwell Museum will be held Saturday, Nov. 19 at the Prairie Star restaurant located on Highway 550 at Tamaya Road in Bernalillo. More than 200 rugs in a wide range of styles both historic and recently completed will be on display and available for purchase. Preview items from 11 a.m. – 12:30 p.m. The auction begins at 1 p.m.
The event will offer opportunities to view and "throw down" rugs, speak to specialists in Native American art and Navajo weaving and take home a unique handmade textile. Experts in the field will be on site to identify handspun, hand-carded and vintage pieces to ensure quality items and prices.
Sales tax will not be charged and a portion of all purchases is tax deductible. Admission is free.

From Albuquerque: North I25 to exit 242, at the top of the ramp go west/left and travel two miles on 550. Santa Ana Casino will be on the right, go 1 block west of the casino and take a right at the light Tamaya Rd. Appx. 1/4 mile from 550 you will see a sign that reads Santa Ana Golf Club and Prairie Star Restaurant. Take a right into the parking lot. You have arrived.
