New Mexico (26-9) is making its 16th NCAA Tournament appearance, its first since 2014. The Lobos have eight all-time tournament victories, the last coming in 2012 when they defeated Long Beach State in the round of 64 before falling to Louisville.

Clemson (21-11) went 11-9 in the ACC this season and is coming off a loss to Boston College in the second round of the ACC Tournament.

It will be the first-ever meeting between the Lobos and Clemson.

The Lobos are coming off an exhilarating ride in last week’s Mountain West Conference tournament winning four games in as many days to secure the Mountain West’s automatic bid to the NCAA Tournament. The Lobos won the Mountain West Conference championship with a thrilling 68-61 victory over San Diego State. It was the first time in conference history that team has been able to pull off that feat on its way to the title.
