The University of New Mexico’s Department of Human Resources has announced a new addition to its Employee Health Programs (EHP) Called Lifesteps Weight Management Program, the program is open to all who qualify for classes through UNM's Continuing Education provided they attend a mandatory orientation.
Lifesteps is designed to combine sound nutrition, behavioral changes and fitness practices to provide the best solutions to individual needs, setting goals to improve health and reach weight loss targets. This is not a one-size fits all program, nor is it a diet plan. Students will develop an approach that focuses on their needs, building a personal action plan that fits their lifestyle.
Students will attend small weekly meetings with a trained EHP specialist to coach them through their Lifesteps program. These discussions will address problem solving, behavioral change activities and topics like nutrition and physical fitness.
Interested individuals will attend a mandatory orientation where they will learn about Lifesteps and meet personally with an EHP coordinator to determine how the program can benefit them and consider their readiness to tackle health and fitness issues.
Important program information and details are presented at the orientation sessions. Seats are limited, so be sure to log into Learning Central to register. Participants must attend an orientation session in order to register for the program.
