This week on New Mexico in Focus, the panel takes a look at TEDxABQ, scheduled for Saturday, Sept. 7, and sits down with event curator Tim Nisly as well as two of this year’s speakers, Eliseo Torres and Barbara Jennings. Torres is vice president of Student Affairs at UNM and a world-renowned Mexican folk healer, and Jennings is a research engineer at Sandia National Labs who explores how cell phones affect our brains.

New Mexico in Focus airs Friday night at 7 p.m. on Channel 5.1 and appears online at NMiF shortly thereafter. The show rebroadcasts Saturday at 5 p.m. on Channel 9.1 and again on Sunday at 7 a.m. on Channel 5.1.

Also this week, Tom Garrity of Garrity Group Public Relations discusses which people and institutions New Mexicans trust the most based on his firm’s recent survey, the Line panel looks at the rapidly evolving issue of same-sex marriage in New Mexico as well as a look into what may happen with the current audit over behavioral health providers.
