This week, New Mexico in Focus takes an in-depth look at ways of addressing chronic homelessness. Homelessness is a persistent problem in New Mexico and officials in the state’s largest city and Bernalillo County are rolling out new strategies to help people get off the streets. Correspondent Megan Kamerick sits down with official from the city of Albuquerque and Bernalillo County, as well as with nonprofit service providers who help those who are homeless.

Host Gene Grant and the Line opinion panelists debate some of the top stories in the news, including a lead-up to the last day of this year's legislative session.  They discuss the protracted efforts to craft an ethics commission proposal and look at a possible commitment for New Mexico to back the nation’s popular vote in presidential races. The Line also examines tensions between the state and counties over a “right-to-work” ordinance ban, and new gun safety laws and proposals.

New Mexico PBS’ one-hour public affairs show New Mexico in Focus regularly airs Fridays at 7 p.m. and repeats Sundays at 7 a.m. on Channel 5.1, and Saturdays at 5 p.m. and Sundays at 3 p.m. on Channel 9.1, except during pledge drives.
