This week on New Mexico in Focus, Attorney General Hector Balderas sits down with producer Sarah Gustavus to talk about violent crime in New Mexico. Balderas convened a Violent Crime Review Team earlier this year to look at repeat offenders. NMiF also hears from James Ginger, the independent monitor brought in to report on the reform process within the Albuquerque Police Department.
New Mexico PBS’ one-hour public affairs show New Mexico in Focus regularly airs Fridays at 7 p.m. and repeats Sundays at 7 a.m. on Channel 5.1, and Saturdays at 5 p.m. and Sundays at 3 p.m. on Channel 9.1, except during Pledge Drives.
Host Gene Grant and this week's Line opinion panelists discuss some of the stories in the headlines this week, including an investigation into a key advisor in the Martinez administration, compliance with the REAL ID Act, and proposed new developments in downtown Albuquerque.
