Each year, the Office of Advising Strategies (OAS) seeks to recognize outstanding academic advisors who provide great advising services to students through an awards process. The nomination process is now open.

The Office of Advising Strategies is currently seeking recipients for four Excellence in Advising Awards, two of which are for academic advisors, and two for integrated advisors.

Advisors available for nomination are any academic advisors or integrated advisors. Academic advisors are any assigned advisors (i.e. your assigned Biology advisor, or your assigned Engineering advisor). Integrated advisors are advisors in Athletics, Enrollment Management, the Provost’s office, or Student Affairs. This could be an advisor in a student program, such as the American Indian Summer Bridge Program.

Advisors have a real impact on not only student success and advising, but this University as a whole. We invite everyone to help us acknowledge those individuals that go above and beyond in their dedication to their roles.

Nominations will be accepted until 5 p.m. on Friday, April 20. Submit your nominations online. Contact Laura Valdez at lvaldez@unm.edu for more information and any questions.
