An opening reception for the exhibit Memory and Emergence is set for Monday, Sept. 22, at 5:30 p.m. in the Rainosek Gallery in George Pearl Hall, home to the School of Architecture and Planning. It is located on the corner of Central and Cornell NE.

Memory and Emergence is a poetic and photographic reflection on the past 100 years of culture and regional identity in the Indo-Hispano communities of northern New Mexico. It grew from collaboration between New Mexico State Centennial Poet Levi Romero, photographer and filmmaker Miguel Gandert, immersive media artist Hue Walker and the Director of ARTS Digital Media Lab, Tim B. Castillo, all native New Mexicans. The collaboration culminates in an immersive environment cinematic experience.

The project sponsored by the National Endowment of the Arts and the New Mexico Arts Program, reflects on the past while also looking to the future.

The exhibition will be up through Wednesday, Oct. 15.
