Registration for UNM Music Prep School is now open for the fall semester. UNM Music Prep School hosts a variety of Wednesday, Friday, and Saturday music classes for infants through adults.

Since 1993, the UNM Music Prep School has provided music education opportunities to thousands of Albuquerque-area children, ages birth through high school. Housed in the College of Fine Arts’ Department of Music, the classes include a variety of parent-child classes including Early Childhood Music, Around the World with Music and World Drumming. Other classes include Group Piano, Group Guitar and Adult Ukulele.

UNM Music Prep School also offers UNM Children’s Choruses. Children’s Choruses begin Sept. 4 and are open to children in K through 12th grade. No audition is required. All children are welcome.

Children’s Chorus classes are held Wednesdays from 5:15 to 6:30 p.m. Piano classes are held Fridays from 4 to 5:45 p.m. All other music classes are held Saturdays between the times of 8 a.m. to 1:45 p.m. Classes are held in the UNM Center for the Arts building and begin Sept. 4 through Dec. 6. The costs for the fall semester classes are $145 per child.
