John Rodriguez has been named Custodian of Public Records for the University of New Mexico. Rodriguez is in the Office of University Counsel and will report to Elsa Kircher Cole, University Counsel.

“I am confident that John will be an excellent match for this position and a strong asset to the Office of University Counsel,” Cole said.

Rodriguez will be responsible for responding to Inspection of Public Records Act (IPRA) requests to the University including all schools, departments, hospitals, athletics and branch campuses.

"I am excited to join the team at University of New Mexico and I look forward to applying my past experience and knowledge to my new position in order to make a positive impact within the campus community."

Rodriguez brings experience and a proven track record of success in the Higher Education area, which will be invaluable in meeting the departmental goals and objectives.

Previously Rodriguez served as the director of Human Resources at the College of Santa Fe, which later evolved into the Santa Fe University of Art and Design (Santa Fe, N.M.), where he also served as the director of International Student Experience and, most recently as the director of Campus and Residential Life, also at the Santa Fe University of Art and Design.

Rodriguez graduated from the College of Santa Fe with a Bachelor of Arts degree in Organizational Psychology. He also has a Master of Arts degree in Educational Leadership from New Mexico Highlands University.
