On Tuesday, Nov. 30, UNM will join in the global generosity movement known as “GivingTuesday” – and what better way to give back to the community then by supporting New Mexico’s flagship University? When you choose to give to The University of New Mexico, you contribute to provide scholarships, elevate the student experience, and enhance academic programming. All of which strengthens our communities, state, and student futures.
This will be an opportunity to directly support Lobo Academic Programs and Schools, Student Life, UNM Health System, and Community Programs. Gifts on GivingTuesday provide necessary resources for student success, scholarships, elevate the patient and student experience, enhance academic programming, and strengthen the university's impact on our community and the state.

GivingTuesday was created in 2012 as a simple idea: a day that encourages people to do good. Since then, it has grown into a year-round global movement that inspires hundreds of millions of people to give, collaborate, and celebrate generosity. Each gift, to any designated fund, is to support Lobo students, faculty, staff, facilities, and programs. There are several ways to participate in GivingTuesday.
Ways to give
One way to give is through the UNM Gives Campaign, a partnership with United Way of Central New Mexico. The UNM Gives Campaign began on Oct. 1, and Giving Tuesday is the last regular day of the open campaign. It provides funds to meet critical needs across a variety of areas. With the community’s help, the campaign raised nearly $530,000 for United Way in 2020. As our community and country struggle with the continuing challenges of COVID-19, your support and compassion have never been more critical. This link will take you to a donation page – thank you for your generosity. Every contribution counts, and every gift makes a difference.
You can also show support by providing a gift to the UNM Foundation Think UNM Campaign between Nov. 23 and Dec. 5. All gifts are tax deductible and UNM Foundation hopes to receive 250 donations during the GivingTuesday Campaign, with donors encouraged to #ThinkUNM. Those wishing to donate can also choose to support scholarships, research, campus facilities, faculty and other programs through the links to the right.
Donations have an incredibly positive impact at UNM. Make a donation and browse funds to search for an area of passion by following this link. Together, Lobos and community members can make a difference in the lives of current and future students.
