More than 90 employers and thousands of job seekers participated in The University of New Mexico’s Career Expo 2016.
The premiere recruiting event of the year, hosted by the UNM Office of Career Services, was open to students of all majors and disciplines, faculty, staff and community members.
“We have a lot of variety of employers here today so students can walk through and be able to meet one-on-one with our employers,” said Jenna Crabb, UNM’s interim dean of students. “We want to make sure that our students are prepared to meet today’s job market.”
Some of the employers who attended the event include ABF Freight Systems, Albuquerque Public Schools, Ambercare, Arizona Public Schools, Comcast Cable Communications, DOJ – Federal Bureau of Investigation, Edward Jones, Farmers Insurance, Fidelity Investments, HP Inc., KOB-TV, Los Alamos National Laboratory, Molina Healthcare, PNM Resources, PR Newswire, Rio Grande Credit Union, Sandia National Labs, T-Mobile, U.S. Department of State, United States Navy and Wells Fargo Bank.
Employers were interviewing on-site at the event, giving students the chance to gain better interview skills and make connections.
“What makes our career fair really unique, in comparison to lots of career fairs, is that every single one of our employers must have internships or jobs that they are seeking to fill at this time,” said Crabb.
