UNM Parking & Transportation Services (PATS) would like to inform the UNM community that the Farris Engineering Center renovation project has expanded the construction fence zone.
Expansion of the Farris Engineering construction area will require PATS to close 10 B-Zone parking spaces, located on the south side of Redondo South, between Farris Engineering/Mechanical Engineering and Hodgin Hall.
The construction fence will extend onto Redondo, blocking the westbound traffic lane. The closed parking spaces will be used to create a temporary roadway through the area. The temporary roadway will include rumble strips and will be re-striped.
The relocation of the construction fence will also require the temporary closure of the Engineering shuttle stop on the Redondo route. Customers may pick up the Redondo shuttle at the Anthropology bus stop or the Yale Mall bus stop during the closure.
The B-zone parking spaces and Engineering shuttle stop will remain closed until December 2017 when construction is expected to be completed.
Overflow parking for “B” permit holders is available in “P” lot on the northwest corner of University and Central.
Please avoid the area if possible, and follow all detour and pedestrian traffic signs. To ensure everyone’s safety, caution is urged when in the area.
Individuals with questions or concerns regarding the project are urged to contact UNM Planning, Development and Construction (PDC) at 505-277-3600.
