One of the most momentous political events in recent history, the United Kingdom’s decision to withdraw from the European Union continues to create chaos close to three years after the original referendum.

Now a new deadline is on the horizon and the official Brexit withdrawal is scheduled for March 29. What does the withdrawal mean for countries in the United Kingdom? For the United States? For global economics? These and other questions will be the focus on an upcoming panel discussion being hosted by The University of New Mexico Honors College and History Department.

"A Discussion on Brexit" will begin with perspectives offered by several panelists, then will move into a discussion aimed at full audience participation. The event is happening from 12:30 to 2 p.m. on Friday, March 22 – exactly one week before the United Kingdom’s deadline to exit the EU. It is free and open to the public and will be held in the Honors College Forum in the South wing of Mesa Vista Hall.

Panelists:

Margaret Connell-Szasz, History | Scotland
