The March "Collections in Focus" event at University Libraries will look at how traditional books can be transformed into contemporary art. The Collections in Focus event will be held Friday, Mar. 31 from 2-3 p.m. in the Waters Room of the Zimmerman Library.

Book arts, or artists’ books, take the conventional format of the book and change it into conceptual art. This allows viewers and artists to expand their ideas about how books communicate information and ideas.
Michael Taylor, public services librarian, will show examples of weird and wonderful book art that can be found in UNM’s Center for Southwest Research & Special Collections.
