On Feb. 12, 2025, The University of New Mexico will host UNM Big Give, a dynamic 24-hour celebration of philanthropy designed to rally alumni, friends, and supporters worldwide. This annual event highlights the power of collective giving and fuels vital academic, healthcare, athletic, cultural, and student programs that define UNM’s vibrant and diverse community.

Jeff Todd, president and CEO of the UNM Foundation, shared his excitement for the upcoming event: “UNM Big Give opens doors of opportunity for our Lobo Community to engage with philanthropy in new and meaningful ways. This week-long build-up to UNM Big Give will spotlight our unwavering commitment to students, researchers, patients, and the broader university community.”

The event starts at midnight on Feb. 12 and lasts 24 hours of inspiring contributions and community engagement. Supporters can direct their generosity to the causes closest to their hearts. Featured funds include the Student Health and Counseling Center, UNM Grand Challenges, and Patient Care, among many others.

Individuals are encouraged to support the UNM Big Give by visiting unmbiggive.unmfund.org. Beginning Feb. 12, donors can also contribute through purchases made at participating UNM Food locations or by attending special events like the men’s basketball game that evening.

The 2024 UNM Big Give saw unprecedented participation. 2,527 alumni and supporters worldwide united to surpass the goal of 2,500 unique contributors. Together, they raised over $800,000, setting a new benchmark for the largest single-day fundraising effort in UNM’s history. The event also spotlighted collaboration, with UNM Athletics hosting its annual Lobos Give Day with UNM Big Give—this initiative, which supports student-athlete scholarships, raised over $356,000, exceeding its $300,000 target.
